~Since opening the first location in Mishawaka, Bruno, Rosa, and Teresa have built and maintained a reputation for quality. Pictured left is Rosa Cataldo and right James Weldy. James went to grade school with Joe & John Cataldo. He attended numerous school events & social gatherings at their restaraunt growing up. Everyone did. It was the place to go. Many good memories were made there.
In 2009 James was doing some of the kitchen remodel at the Bruno's family restaurant. During the remodeling process~ John Cataldo & James got to talking. James was curious what it would take to open up a Bruno's location. Time went on & the city came to Bruno & wanted him to open a Bruno's location downtown. A few months later they got to work on the Michigan Street location. Originally the Cataldos were going to put that location under their wing. John Cataldo thought it would be a good idea if James would make that location his own. James was skeptical at first. He took a leap of faith. All in all it was a lot of hard work but he is glad he did it. He loves that this has given him an opportunity to be a bigger part of the community and all the new friendships he has built along the way.
From their humble beginnings (the Cataldos).... in Calabria, Italy... until today Bruno's mission is still simple, give the customer a product that you take pride in. James carries on this legacy for them. An always fresh product to the public in his Bruno's Pizza Downtown location. Carrying on with the same great tradition.
